30k high school history/social science teacher in Shanghai

● Experience teacher with AP/ALEVEL/IGCSE history or social science
● salary+ rent is 30K before tax,
● Aug 15 contract starts for one school year, renewable.
● Native English speakers only
● Shanghai Minhang district,
● flight allowance 10K per year
● working visa support
● health insurance
● 22 lessons per week with classes that have approximately 15-20 students per class.
Requirements:
● English native speaker from UK/USA/Australia/New Zealand/Ireland/Canada
● Minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
● Within 40 years old·
● A recognized teaching qualification or equivalent. ·
● Teaching experience is preferable. ·
● Full proficiency in the English language
● Have excellent interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students, colleagues and parents.
Responsibility
● Responsibly plan and teach English and Language Arts lessons. ·
● Develop and maintain a comprehensive curriculum. ·
● Support student learning by collaborating with other teachers and departments of the school, especially supporting ELA learning in drama classes and programs. ·
● Support the school’s commitment to the 4C skills of communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity in teaching and working with colleagues. ·
● Promote cross-cultural understanding among faculty and students. ·
● Participate actively in curricular work, curricular writing, and professional development within the curriculum group and the faculty at large. ·
● Whenever possible, become involved in interdisciplinary teaching with colleagues.
● Maintain positive relationships with parents and participate in parent-teacher conferences. ·
● Offer at least one elective or club for students each semester. ·
● Occasionally cover classes for colleagues. ·
● Assist with other student activities when possible. ·
● Care for all students in class and actively report concerns and accolades regarding students’ progress in class. ·
● Support and work with the support staff where appropriate, such as the admissions officers. ·
● Be flexible, and assist with any other duties, tasks or jobs as may be reasonably requested by the management.
